The information we collect:


Normal website usage:
In general, you can browse our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal informationabout yourself. The only information we gather during general browsing is from standard server logs. These include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, and information such as the web site that referred you to us, the files you downloaded, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits. This information is typical industry-standard information collected by most internet hosts.

If you choose to make an online donation, we collect and store your name and other personal information that you give us in the process of receiving and recording your gifts to Our House, Inc. We also store the amounts and designations of gifts that you make. Your credit card information (if you give online) will be stored in order to process the electronic transaction.



How we use the information we collect:

The information gathered during general browsing of our web site is used to analyze trends and usage of the site and to improve its usefulness. This information is never connected with any personal information.

If you give personal information to us, such information may be disclosed to certain members of the Our House Staff who are responsible for donor relations. Our back-office operations in the United States are managed by Frontera Business Services, and several of their staff members may have access to your information for the purpose of properly recording and processing your donations. In any case, access to
your information is only for the purpose of properly recording your gifts and responding to your inquiries. We do not disclose the personal information you give us to any other person or organization for any reason.

We may occasionally use information about individuals in aggregate to help us to improve our effectiveness. An example of this would be using the data from donors as a group to determine the areas of the US in which our donors live as a way of determining if we are effective in reaching all geographic areas.

We also use personal information to send email or regular mail about the work of Our House. If you would prefer not to receive such mail, simply send an email to We will gladly remove you from any distribution lists. In such a case, we would use your personal information only to send confirmations of gifts you make to Our House.



Use of our information by others
Except for the transaction processing services provided by Frontera Business Services on our behalf (see above), we do not make any personal information available to anyone outside Our House for any reason at anytime.



Is Credit Card Information Secure?
We use high-grade encryption and the https security protocol to communicate with your browser software. This method is the industry standard security protocol, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the credit card information you send to us. Companies we work with to process credit card transactions also use high-grade encryption and security protocols.



Do We Use "Cookies"?
“Cookies” are small non-program text files that Internet browsers like Internet Explorer and Google use to facilitate on online experience. We use them to keep track of who you are as you move from screen to screen on our site. For instance, if you decide to make a donation on one page and pay for it on another page, the cookie makes sure the credit card payment and the donation decision match up. We use temporary cookies only. These cookies expire as soon as you logout or close your browser. We do not
check for cookies that might tell us what other sites you have visited or anything similar.
